Ring

The Jaguar Warrior Ring is a solid sterling silver ring with a battle scarred jaguar on the top. In the mouth of the jaguar is a 9ct yellow gold skull which represents the jaguar warrior. Around the board of the ring is the quote “The Omen Bringer” signifying that the jaguar in a lot of South American cultures was a bringer of signs, some good some bad. On the shoulders of this signet is a image of a jaguar resting in the trees.

Packaging

The ring comes in a sustainably sourced wooden box as well as the Serpent Cove treasure chest with all its Cove trinkets. Standard postage within Australia is included, express and international postage available at an additional cost.

Story

As you finally set up your camp after dealing with the cute calm chameleon, the hot jungle starts to cool and make howling and haunting noises. At night it’s so loud but the warmth of the fire is just what you need. It’s hard to relax with the feeling that the jungle is watching you…you can feel something there sipping at your soul. You turn around and flash your light into the dense brush to see too large red orbs silently drift back into the Forest. The hairs over your whole body stand up! What was that? Was it a ghost? A monster? A bit cat? Wait wait it must have been a jaguar. As you slowly and reluctantly turn your back to look at the fire again. ITS THERE IN FRONT OF YOU, THE JAGUAR!! This giant muscle bound cat has vapours rising from its red hot body as if it was of a ghostly realm, the eyes of this cat pierce your soul and put the fear of Tezcatlipoca (god of night and war) into you. After a moment of just locking eyes, it seems it’s not here to eat but is here to deliver. When you look closer its giant mouth seems to have something in it that shimmers, a golden skull falls from the beasts mouth and lands at your feet. For this is the jaguar warrior bearing a gift.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the jaguar comes from a quote I heard in a game years ago. “I hear the growl of the jaguar, is this a bad omen”. This stuck with me. Also the ability of this large cat to rule over the jungle and mankind is amazing. They say that our fear of monsters in the dark as a kid is from big cats attacking caveman and when you hear the somewhat modern stories of Tezcatlipoca the Aztec god of darkness and war you can see why. I wanted to feature the jaguar warriors of Aztecs but also didn’t want to take too much away from the jaguar itself. This is why the jaguar has the skull in its mouth in a display of its strength over man. The jaguars left eye is scared to show its strength to fight on and not let the loss of its eye to let it give up
