My good friend Pete came to me with a bracelet he had found. It had been run over and destroyed but the gold was still good. He had the grand idea to make himself a heirloom with said gold, something that would last for a century or more. As his last name is Italian for “mongrel dog” we designed this ring together. The ring displays a big Cane Corso resting on a black diamond shield while holding a harpoon. The shield is to help protect the wearer from incoming attacks and the harpoon represents Pete’s work on and love for Australians oceans. The rings shoulders have his family name in a Roman style front with Pete’s favourite nautical knot.
This ring was a challenge to make but so worth it. I often find rings hard to hand over to customers as I fall in love with them, but this one was especially difficult. The mix of rich 18ct yellow gold and the massive black diamond is awe inspiring. This ring like all rings from the Cove is truly unique.
