Ring
An eye catching solid sterling silver signet with a 9ct yellow gold, hand-soldered crocodile floating on top.
Engraved around the border are the words “you have the watch but I have the time”, referencing a crocodile’s well known tactic of tiring his enemy.
On the inside of the band is the intricate hint of the crocodile’s hidden lair, silver reeds carefully soldered into the void.
The ring has been designed to have a shallow profile to make it more ergonomic, allowing you to forget you’re wearing it until it catches your eye with its rippling water effect creatively etched into its face.

The ring comes in a sustainably sourced wooden box as well as the Serpent Cove treasure chest with all its Cove trinkets. Standard postage within Australia is included, express and international postage available at an additional cost.

The walk through the red outback has been hot and sticky, the sun and heat is sucking the moisture out of your body but just over the ridge you spot it respite! You feel the cool air softly coming your way so you follow, you hear the sounds of water and now birds, you hear life. This water hole is at the bottom of a gorge, the freak is steep but it’s going to be worth it to rehydrate and paddle in these cool waters but wait you remember something a local said not to long ago wait and watch the waters before entering so you sit in the cool air and shade and watch, hours pass and you finally see it. There! It’s a giant crocodile that surfaces softly silently nothing noticed it but you did and it’s looking right at you, it’s been watching and waiting and knows there is no water for days, it knows you need this water and with a quick smile it soft disappears back into the water…it has the time of.
Inspiration
I’ve always had a deep fascination with animals; specifically predators like the crocodile. This ring has been painstakingly designed over many years as my skills have progressed and I can expertly create the essence of the crocodile’s nature. I wanted to capture the cruise of the crocodile as it looks for either a warm spot in the sun, or its next meal. Wanting to highlight the different textures of the crocodile and the rippling reflective water, I used the juxtaposition of gold and silver to add to the dynamic look.
The quote “you have the watch but I have the time,” is based on an old proverb used by rebel warriors, meaning I have more patience then you have attention.
An unusual and distinctive feature of this ring is its hidden lair on the inside of the band, a place for the crocodile to retreat to and eat its meals.
