Ring
Nevermore
Corax holds the gold raven skull in place with a composite braided line of high tensile strength, making the gold skull bound to the ring tight like the fibres of your heart muscles. The band or ring is a sterling silver band having the word never more, an ode to Edgar Allan Poe’s poem.
The ring comes in a sustainably sourced wooden box as well as the Serpent Cove treasure chest with all its Cove trinkets. Standard postage within Australia included, express and international postage available at an additional cost.
Story
The night air, once it hits 9:30, gets bitter cold. Not having heating in the workshop is okay; it keeps my mind sharp. As the air cools, it starts to stream vapour from my breath. I have finished the clean-up and I’m about to place the skull in its nicely polished tomb. With needle and thread, I start to sew the skull down. The now cold metals, still silver and gold, warm as my hands rest for long moments while I slowly run the thread through the piece and into place. With one last pull and a knot, it falls perfectly straight and into place.
Inspiration
I love to explore new techniques in making and have experimented a lot with using this braided thread. It’s what holds the skull in the ring. With the inspiration of all of this based on the chapter master of the Raven Guards’ lightning claws.
