Story

The night air is filled with the smells of rain and pollen dancing into the gentle crisp cooling air. With the moons light being somewhat faint, the wharf lights of Serpent Cove glow with a brightness that fuzzies the silent air. In that silence an eery fluttering can be heard. It jumps and flickers and chaotically dances in flight as it slowly makes its way to the fuzzing, soft glowing light. The Death moth has come to Serpent Cove and its mystical powers are dancing around the light globes. Warming light bathes the moth. This Luminary Acolyte is here to deliver a message. But what is that message? The acolyte will only come to you when it’s time to receive. And then it will not tell you, as it has no voice. The acolyte will dance in flight and come to rest upon your hand, with its wings slowly quivering until they peacefully rest and wrap around your hand. If its body is pointing down the hand, it has come to tell you that it brings life and growth for you. If it's facing inwards, it brings a warning of fragility of life, and to take care of yourself and others.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this piece came to me with the visit of a strange moth to the workshop one night while i was talking to Tammen about working on a new design. With its symbolism it felt rather fitting for both of us at that time.
